The Creative Spirit, CCC 27, Simon Says Stamp and Show

I can hardly believe we are on week 27 of the CCC's at Studio L3!  Linda has us opening our books to page 60 to distress mist our masks, along with Simon Says Stamp and Show "Some Masking" and we are also going to take this couple to visit Cindy and her "Creative Spirit Challenge," but do you want to know what happened?  Without giving away to much detail, we had to use reinkers and mine was new and unopened.  I went to remove the plastic safety seal with a pair of scissors and I could not believe my eyes!  The entire seal and bottle dropper cap came flying off and landed all over my boring tan carpet!  I was in shock and ran for the paper towels to blot up the bright reddish color.  Well I think it will be ok.  I have a little green machine and worked on it.  Back to business, I cut out three hearts from a Sizzix die of various sizes for masks along with a mask of John and Joan from Scrolls Work Stamps.  I think they are a gorgeous couple for Valentine's Day and the little hearts and sentiment are also stamps from Scrolls Work.  We first started with the larger heart and worked down to the smaller and always kept the happy couple covered with a mask.  We then added some little pearls in both black and cream and cut a larger tag shape to back the main show.  This was quite fun, well with the exception of the mishap!

Hope you all are having a wonderful week and doing something fun and creative.  So you know, the Creative Spirit is open for any crafter and anything goes as long as it was made by your lovely hands!  Thank you so much for the visit!

Wonderful tag Terry - love that sentiment. Sorry to hear about your mishap with the reinker, hope you were able to get it all out!

They are a perfect Valentine couple. Wonderful tag. I hope your carpet is okay. I have spilled the ink twice but the worst was melting the carpet with my heat gun. Couldn't wipe up that one.

Great tag, sympathize about the ink, I had a similar experience with black craft paint years ago on some new carpet. My husband and boys said, boy are we glad we didn't do that :-)

This is fabulous, Terry, I love it! You have really made the image pop, and the heart masking looks really good. Worried about your carpet though - that is my big fear with my crafting,

Love your tag Terry, it looks fab. I too know the feeling of re-inker accidents, there are some strange splodges on the floor by my desk.

Lovely tag Terry! I think we all have some sort of blobs of stains in our rooms! As long as we have fun creating, the messes do not matter!!

Love the tag! Love the backdrop of what appears to be vintage valentines too. Sucks about losing most of the reinker, especially on the carpet. Write to the company and they will send you another one free I bet. They won't clean your carpet tho' so I'm glad you got it out.

Beautiful tag Terry! I think all of us stampers have had a similar mishap so can feel for you. I'm luck that the carpet in my studio is old and I really want to replace it with a hard floor so that I don't need to worry about those things!

Beautiful tag! So sorry about your carpet. :( I'd be in big trouble if I didn't have linoleum in my studio, lol!

This is such a gorgeous tag and just perfect for Valentine's Day. I do hope your carpet is no worse for wear. However, I can't imagine reinkers not staining! Probably your tan was dark enough to camouflage the spot.

Hi Terry,
Wow, I loved your feedback and the picture with the dogs--I had no idea that's why you used it...I figured it was because you were so crazy about your dogs!!

Love your tag. Brilliant. Yes, I've had a few narrow squeaks with the carpet. Your experience makes me think I might just put some plastic protector down around the desk area.

This is so nicely done! you sure do have a talent for capturing the essence of these challenges!!

Linda Ledbetter said...

Oh, Terry, that's awful about your reinker breaking like that! Yikes! I'm glad the stain came up okay, but I bet you nearly had a heart attack.

John and Joan look extremely romantic and happy on that gorgeous tag you created! What a brilliant way to work the masking-- the subtle tone-on-tone is just beautiful. I love the little flower up top, too!
