The Funkie's are now sharing their take on "Resist" at Frilly and Funkie! We want to see your fabulous irresistible creations, whether "Frilly or Funkie," so stop on over for all the details and come join in on all the fun! As always there is a $25.00 random draw gift certificate to The Funkie Junkie Boutique and someone will be chosen as a favorite to display a winner's badge. "Inspired by Summer Distress" is the fun challenge at Simon Says Stamp and Show, so we are spooking over there!
My resist of choice was working with embossing ink and powders! I had a little fun here and just could not seem to stop at just one tag, so moved on to a second and then a third! Love the new Halloween stamps from Mr. Holtz! Well I had everything out, so I just switched things up a little. Great fun and I sure hope to see you there!
Thank you for today's visit and I hope you have a wonderful week!

Flower Power!
The Fashionettes are showing their "Flower Power" and that can be floral stamping and or handmade flowers. Just remember there has to be some form of stamping as Digi images are not allowed. There is a prize from Cottage Crafts and always the "Top Three," so come join in the fun at Fashionable Stamping Challenges! For more inspiration and a lovely bouquet for the eyes, stop by FSC to see what my super talented DT Sisters have gone and done! Simon Says Stamp and Show current challenge is "No Rules," so I will link this up there!
For my card, I decided to go pretty and feminine! Not so easy for me as I am always tempted to add that little bit of grunge, but for this, I went pretty! The background was stamped with Archival Coffee and distressed with Frayed Burlap, as was the smaller flower. The two flower pieces were cut using a Spellbinders die and I did trim the pink one, so it would be a little smaller. These come in three sizes and I wanted something in between. All petal edges were distressed, you know I had to! The Woman is from Hero Arts and I inked up some shimmery paper, starting with Spun Sugar in the center and working out with Antique Linen, Pumice Stone and then shaded with Frayed Burlap!
Now the pretty little flower trim was gifted to me by my friend, Lucy, of True Colours! Yes, she is as sweet as can be! I cut some of the trim into segments to embellish the bottom! This is so pretty! Thank you again, Lucy!
Well I have been busy getting some things caught up DT wise as next week, I will be busy getting some food taken care of for the house sitter we will have. Over the Labor Day weekend we are making a trip to visit our son for his birthday. Oh and I will be having a quick visit with another blogger friend that I actually knew before blogging, so that adds to the excitement! Anyway, I do so appreciate your visits and will be visiting you all really soon! Have a wonderful weekend!

Whitewash Stamping!
We have been instructed to open our Compendium of Curiosities #2 to page 47! Linda decided this would be a good week to do some "Whitewash Stamping" and I really had a good time with this! I used stamps from two of Tim's new releases, available at The Funkie Junkie Boutique, who also happens to be this week's fabulous sponsor! WooHoo! As always we cannot tell you about the technique, but really get that book if you don't have it in your collection! Simon Says Stamp and Show has a "No Rules" challenge, so we will be linking this up there as well!
The background pattern is very subtle! |
I added the lavish trim and some gold seed beads for the flower centers. The metal tag was embossed with gold and colored in with the paint dabber. Fun all the way around!
Hope you all are enjoying this week and hopefully crafting away. Thank you for visiting and commenting.

Fun with Canvas at Frilly and Funkie!
"Get Crafty With Canvas" is the current challenge at Frilly and Funkie! Last week the Frilly team certainly did some gorgeous crafty goodness with canvas and now with the Funkie team, you just have the best of both worlds! Come on and pull out some canvas and play along! Linda offers a $25 gift certificate to The Funkie Junkie Boutique, and what a lovely store it is! There is also a project competition vote and the winner will have a lovely badge to display! Can't wait to see what you do with the "Get Crafty With Canvas" challenge.
For my DT project, I used a 5" X 7" canvas board, did some spraying with Dylusions and Color Wash and a bit of masking! The leaf border was stenciled with clear emboss ink. I find I am enjoying these sprays more and more! I added gold embossing powder along the canvas edges and a few splatterings on the canvas. The bird cage and butterflies were cut with sticky back canvas and then inked with Distress inks and of course shaded! Added some gold pearls to the butterflies and the stamped sentiment is from Tim's Shabby French set. Made up a little sentiment with Chit Chat. I wanted this to be a hanging canvas to give to my G-Daughter, who has her very first apartment!
Now in the store there are new products and new releases! Metallic Distress Stains, Stamps,Yeah! Linda still has the entire set of Dylusions sprays on sale and some new stencils with great prices, so stop by and have a look!
