December Tag 2013!

Woo Hoo I am done with Tim's 12 Tags of 2013 and boy was December's tag a blast! I had so much fun, that I had to make a few extra plastic pieces! Mostly followed Tim's lead. A big THANK YOU to Tim for a fabulous year of fun and creative learning!
First I made my poinsettias and snowflakes and inked them and then shaded around the edges. Yes, I got carried away with the snow effect and I did it on purpose!
I was thinking of my Mom and a painting class we were in and it required the splattering of white paint and boy did she go to town! I asked her why she was covering it up so and she just said she was having so much for! So the snow was for my Mom and a nice memory!
Well I meant to take a picture of the tag background, after I inked and stenciled Tim's stars in random sizes and places and did soft stamping on the background, but I forgot! Hopefully you can see a little of this.  "Bah, humbug" is the challenge theme over at Country View Challenges and so we go!
Thank you for taking the time to stop by during this most busy time of the year. I do appreciate your visits and have a wonderful rest of the week!

Let It Snow!

Hope you all are doing well and getting ready for the upcoming Holidays! Hence is why I decided to go with a Christmas theme for Tim's November 12 Tags of 2013! And normally I would use all or mostly "Tim" products and stamps, but since Artist Outpost came out with the Christmas Chalk line in September, it just seemed like a natural fit to me! Not to mention Artistic Outpost is having a 15% off sale until November 18th, so stock up and use code November2013.
I followed the guidelines from Tim for the most part for the chalking technique.
I inked and chalked the frame from Christmas Chalk and then the little cottage scene from MidWinter, which I did mask off a little at each side to fit inside the framed area before inking with clear embossing ink.
And has the title of my blog posts states! This was stamped on white, shaded with black and layered up on black and green and I added foam underneath for a little extra dimension! Oh and of course a little extra chalk here and there. The snowflakes at the top are from Chalk It Up.

Enjoy the rest of your day or evening and as always, I deeply appreciate your visits! And if you have some of those fabby AO stamps, join in the November Referral Program!

Tim's October Tag!

Each month I so look forward to Tim's new Tags of 2013 and of course loving the Halloween theme, I could not wait to start! Now mostly I followed the guidelines, with a few changes of products I did not have.
Ghoulish fun to create the background! I used stains and inks in place of the paints, why you ask, because I don't have that many of the Distress Paints! If you saw how many paints I have, you would understand why.
Used different "Tim" stamps for the background stamping.
Don't have the new dies, so improvised using Tim's dies I do have. I just had to give the scary cat and bat some Stickle eyes!  Will also link this up to Unruly PaperArts "RAQ 2" Bats, Our Creative Corner, "Let's Tag It On" and Country View Crafts, "Something Spooky." For the frame, I inked it up with Dusty Concord, applied Glass Bead Gel and then sprinkled on Purple glitter and finished with matte sealer spray after it dried!
Used the "Chit Chat" stickers to finish and some stars I had on hand, which I do need to pick up those glass stars! Note to Tim, need more "happy" in the chit chats! Don't you think we use that word quite often and there were not a one to be found in my two booklets!

That is that and I thank you for taking the time to stop by today! Have a fabulous day!

September Layers!

Having a little fun with Tim's September 2013 Tag - Layers! Mostly followed Tim's guidelines, so pop on over there for all the details!
I did have to improvise, as I do not have Tim's tag stencils at the moment, so used a mix of what I had on hand.
The stains I used were, Peeled Paint, Rusty Hinge, Vintage Photo and same color choice for ink pads. For the pen nib, I inked over that with Black Archival and clear embossed with specks of UTEE Gold. I love embossing metal. This will also go for a visit at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, "Embossed." I love the embossed look from the modeling paste through the stencil!

I can't believe it is already Thursday, but I guess that is what happens when you go off for awhile! Hope you are having a great week and thank you for visiting me today!

Leaving!

I have to say that I am always amazed and impressed with those of you who can post so many times in a week, because it takes me a long time for most of what I do, sadly I am slow! This tag was actually one of my "quicker" ones as it still took me two hours and then two hours to capture almost decent photos! I am not a photographer by any means or it could be my camera! Anywho, onto my tag which is why you stopped by!
Of course this is based on Tim's "August" 12 Tags of 2013 and it is all about masking! For my tag I pretty much followed the guidelines and did a little masking on masking! And playing along with Inspiration Journal's "My Summer Vacation" which is approaching shortly, I chose the "airplane" as that will be my mode of travel for my mini vacation to visit family and Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge for "Air Mail" and I would be the package!
For my background, following Tim's instructions, I used Antique Linen, Old Paper and Bundled Sage, with a splat of Vintage Walnut.  After using Stazon for the Mask, I forgot and used it to ink up my stamps and as you can see, not as good coverage as with the Archival!
I used several stamps sets of Tim's and since I will be flying, thought the little suitcase collection was right in order with the compass pointing North to Portland, OR.

Hope you are having a wonderful week and enjoying your summer vacations or summer at home! Thank you so much for visiting!

Red, White and Blue!

Happy 4th of July to the USA and boy will it be a hot one or at least here! We are still in the upper 100's and with humidity.  So many people will be hitting the roads or staying at home, but everyone will be celebrating and I hope safely! We will be going to friends for a big BBQ party and that is always such great fun! And speaking of hitting the road, today I have my "Road Trip" over at Artistic Outpost, if you want to have a look. I was certainly inspired by Tim's July tag for 2013!
I just wanted to do a simple tag to celebrate the 4th and all the freedoms I have! The awesome flag is from I Brake For Stamps and I colored the stamp with Distress Markers, cut and shaded with Vintage Photo. Don't you just love my flagpole? It is a coffee stir stick from Southwest Airline that I saved.
The background was stamped using Tim's star and embossed, then inked in a striped fashion and of course that water hit the tag! And between the stars on the flag and tag, we have all 50 baby!
We are taking our Patriotic Celebration to visit the following lovely challenge blogs:

Country View Crafts - Summer Sizzler
Inspiration Journal - Happy B-Day America or Other B-Day Celebration
Simon Says Stamp and Show - Anything Goes

Thank you for visiting me today and I hope you have a wonderful week and weekend!

June Tag - Destination!

Those of you playing along with Tim's 12 Tags of 2013, are you have fun with it? That is what it is all about, to have fun while learning something new! I am not one to play with watercolor, but have to admit that once I started, I wanted to color in more! For my "June" tag, I followed Tim's guidelines and just changed up some colors and stamps!

For the background, which I can never achieve a streaky look, I used Distress Paint "Tarnished Brass," Distress Stain "Broken China" and Distress "Vintage Photo" ink pad.  After I did the technique, I applied some "Peacock Feather" and then shaded with Vintage Photo.
I used Tim's Mini Blue Print stamps and these were colored with Wild Honey, Broken China, Pumice Stone and Vintage Photo markers!  Pretty much that was how it was all done!

Thank you for stopping by and commenting! I hope you have having a fabulous week!

Duel Action May Tag

Hope you all are having a week! I finally got around to ordering some of Tim's "Rubs," so I could join in the "May 2013" tag and just in time.  I decided to go with a birthday theme for someone quite near and dear to me - "That Man."
I won't bore you with all the details, as I pretty much followed Tim's instructions and just used my own colors.  All Stamps are Tim's! As you can see, I added some of the rubs onto the filmstrip.
ENABLER ALERT - The Funkie Junkie Boutique has an additional 15% off "movers and shapers" through today.  I went there to purchase some of the "rubs" and ended up with a little stash of M/S, just because it was too hard to resist at 35% off!  And for more sales on those rubber things, Artistic Outpost and The Funkie Junkie Boutique is having a Memorial Day Sale event that continues through until June 8th with all Artistic Outpost stamps at 15% off!  Had to share the good deals!
That is it for today and I do thank you for stopping by and sharing your thoughts or just looking!

Tim's April Tag!

Today it is very windy here and they have warnings about it!  We can get 80 MPH winds and those are dangerous as power poles and trees have been know to give was.   Why am I telling you this, I don't know, but could be because I just thought the door might blow open from a big burst of wind!  Now that I have gotten that out of my system, how about sharing Tim's April 2013 Tag, which will also go for a visit at Unruly PaperArts for "RAQ 2 Gears."
Followed Tim's instructions as much as I could, but the IMPROVISING took place with the Distress paints as I only have two and none were Metallics.  Pulled out the Distress Stains and Metallic Stains to mix up as well.  I just played until I was somewhat happy!  Could not get the background effect, but can live with what I did!  This tag with be for my Grandson's #22 coming up at the end of April.
Used Tim's Mini Blueprint and Tiny Things for my tag.  The world and compass was stamped on plastic packaging as again, I did not have the special product!  Added a piece of filmstrip over the postage airplane, which I wished later I had stamped in black as the sepia ink does not show up that well via camera!
My number was a piece of grunge board that I played with paints and stains until I thought it was close to Tim's.  The metal embellishments were also treated with the paint and stain mix!  Fun tag and always a challenge to come up with the end project with a lack of product!!!!
A little excitement to share!  I made TOP 3 at Simon Says stamp and show for this AO Canvas!
And TOP 3 at SanDee & Amelie's Steampunk Challenge for this Cuckoo Clock
I just was going to go and pick up the mail and I saw the entire air was brown!  It is so windy here and dirt is making visibility very bad!  No, I left the mail, but here is a picture of what would have been a blue sky day!  I took this out my craft room window!
Sorry, I was so photo heavy!  Hope you are having a great week and with a little less dirt blowing in the air.  I know at least one of my blogger friends is probably dealing with the same conditions!  Thank you for visiting today!

Hippity Hop!

Today is a beautiful day here and I worked in the yard a little and then decided it was "Tim Time" and time to play with my new movers and shapers "sized arches."  I was going to build up a frame using all the sizes, but decided to pretty much stay within Tim's instructions!  This is my take on Tim's March Tag!  We are also hopping over to visit Inspiration Journal for their "Add A Little P.O.P."  You should stop by there, because they have a nice $50 prize and guess who won last month?  WooHoo, it was me!
Pretty much I stayed within Tim's guidelines.  For my tinsel bunny, I used various brown shades of alcohol ink.  I was thinking chocolate!  I used three Distress stains for my ribbon, because I was again thinking, Easter Eggs!  After I painted my flowers, I quickly added clear embossing powder and heat set.  If you do this, don't get too close as the paint will blister.  The grass was cut using shredding scissors.
Last week was so busy, so I am a little behind on blogging visits, but will be visiting really soon!  My DH took the entire week off for our 30th Anniversary and if you have not entered my BLOGAVERSARY, you might want to do so.  When he is off, I am pretty much off as well!  My son had eye surgery and is healing OK.  Since I am not a girly kind of girl, my DH surprised me with a "Smart Phone" and it is pretty cool, but I don't know!  Anyway I do thank you for visiting today and hope you are having a fantastic week!

Love

Sneaked in some time yesterday to play along with Tim's "12 Tags of 2013 - February," which fits so nicely for "Spread Some Love" at Inspiration Journal.  Obviously, I had a bit of a struggle with not having that blueprint stamp or the seasonal impressions paper, but I do love a challenge!
My Queen of Hearts is a Texture Trade, that I inked the flay side with black Archival and embossed into the rose color paper, heat seat and used my Fire Brick marker to add a little extra color to the raised areas.  For the panel behind the queen, I used my new "BLUE PRINT" embossing folder and also on the tag background, which was highlighted with Black Soot.  In place of the impressions paper, I used Tim's stamp and clear embossed and then inked over that with Black Soot.

Again I thank you for stopping by and I am working on those blog visits.  For those who have asked, Fred my bird, is still not well and he won't recover from this. Sadly, there is not anything to do other than keeping him company day and night.  I will tell you something sadly funny, but I was sitting near his cage yesterday and started crying and that silly guy chuckled!  He still will make an attempt to flip and flop over to tear up the cage papers, which is one of those things he would do purposely to annoy me.  Pet birds develop quite the personality and the longer you have one, the more it is noticeable.  Anyway, I hope your week is going well and you are doing whatever it is that makes you happy!

Paris in January

This is my first blog post of 2013 and we are starting off a bit unruly taking Tim's January "12 Tags of 2013" technique and combining it with Unruly PaperArts RAQ1 challenge to add a "Fleur-de-Lis," while keeping a Paris theme! So here we go!

The fun part about playing along with any challenge is to change it up a bit or at least I think so! I changed out Tim's grungy gears for the "Fleur-de-Lis" and "Mini Dress Form," but still used all three of those fabulous Metallic Distress Stains! After a light sanding, I shaded using Walnut Stain. I also cut out a foam stamp using the FDL movers and shapers and stamped in the middle of my hanging sign.  Added the metal gears and a little zipper skirt which was inked with Broken China Distress Stain. Pretty much followed the guidelines for inking and embossing. The little hand was inked with Broken China, although it looks more like an off-white. Wish I could figure out that capturing the correct colors, but this girl is not willing to buy an expensive camera! Sorry, I must save $$$ for Tim's new releases! Oh My Crafty Goodness!! Need I say more?

I had to use Google Chrome for this blog post as with IE and Blogger, the area to add pictures from my computer was missing in action!  Anyone else having that problem???  I just don't get this stuff, really I don't!   Anyway, I thank you for stopping by today for a visit!  Welcome to all my new followers!  Have a wonderful 2013!
