Come On!

Hello and welcome to this month's Blog Hop with Artistic Outpost in which we are showcasing "Country Life." Please visit the rest of the DT, Tracy, Shari, Lisa, for more inspiration.

I decided to use one of the jumbo tags to create a little "Country Life" scene which I did by layering various stamps from Hayride across the lower edge, watercoloring using Stampin Up Markers and masking the images before inking over the background with Antique Linen, Brushed Corduroy, a little Spiced Marmalade, flicking with water and add a little light stenciling. Shading was done with Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain and a little Black Soot.

The Tractor was stamped in Black Archival and colored with Mellow Moss and Going Gray.

Black Archival was used to stamp the Basket of Apples, which were colored with Real Red, Certainly Celery and a mix of Creamy Caramel and Summer Sun (Basket). Masked off part of the sign which was stamped in Coffee Archival and sentiment in Black.

Next the Pumpkins were stamped first by inking the stamp with Sepia and then Tiger Lily Archival, colored with Pumpkin Pie and Summer Sun, masked and then the Hay Bale stamped in Tree Branch Archival. Finished off by stamping and cutting apart the sentiment and adding some Vines stamped in Olive.

Have a wonderful day and thank you for stopping by!

Fall is in the Air at Artistic Outpost for this month's Blog Hop as we are all looking forward to season of color and cooler temperatures! Be sure to visit my lovely DT Sisters and check out there wonderful art. There is still a week left to join in the September "Show us you AO Art" with your anything goes, but of course you must use those AO stamps and you could win a $15 store gift certificate!

For my tag I combined Hayride and Home collections from AO and first stamped the kids using Gathered twigs and then clear embossed, also stamped some wheat in the background, then masked and inked on Squeezed Lemonade, Wild Honey and Spiced Marmalade. Instead of the usually flicks of water, I rubbed ink pads Dusty Concord and Peeled Paint on the craft sheet and misted with water and then flicked it onto the tag. I had planned to add color to the kids, but the more I looked at them, I liked them just the way they are. Well, I can always go back and color them in, right?

I just loved my little AO signs and having the truck carry them on home! The "Welcome Autumn" was stamped using Versamark and clear EP. Then I stamped the "sign post" using Watering Can Archival ink over it, heat set, inked on Distress Antique Lines and Vintage Photo, cut out and removed the embossing. The "Home" sign was done pretty much the same way, but I used the wood grain from the sign post stamp and cut that out.

Added a few die cut Fall leaves, which were inked and veined in the truck bed. That vintage truck was stamped in Coffee Archival, embossed, inked and fussy cut. Cut apart the "Country Roads" sentiment and placed around the kids. Will take my tag and visit Inspiration Journal's, "Fall is in the Air" challenge.

That is it and I do thank you for taking the time to visit and comment today. Have a wonderful day and enjoy the Fall season!

The Funny Farm!

I hope you all are doing well and doing something wonderful this weekend! We are off to the local fair today and I am pretty excited. Each year there is a booth that offers tacos and oh how I love those! Can't wait! With all the excitement of the fair in town, I was inspired to to use "Home" and "Hayride" from Artistic Outpost to create a mixed media hanging. There is still plenty of time to join in AO's August Challenge, "Show us your AO Art," so go get inky! I will also be linking this with the lovely Inspiration Journal's "Anything Goes" challenge.

At first the plan was to make a 6" x 6" card using some designer paper from ODBD's "Blooming Garden" for a nice background beginning. I just love that beehive and the darling kids from "Hayride" make such great beekeepers!

All images were stamped in Archival Sepia, the kids fussy cut, the edges around the barn scene from "Home" torn and I cut apart the sentiment. How many remember that song, "There coming to take me away to the Funny Farm?" My Mom and me would just sing that and be so silly! Anywho, I used a little foam applicator to add a little color to the images and of course did some distressing coloring.

I used Wendy Vecchi's "Honeycomb" stencil, of course, to add a little texture and then decided to carry it over onto the red paper backing and corrugated cardboard. I also added another panel of chipboard to the cardboard as I don't like it when things get that warpy look. The texture paste was colored by adding a little Vintage Photo stain and then after it dried, using an applicator added Vintage photo DI. The corrugated cardboard was painted with a mix of buttermilk, red, brown paint and used the red to highlight. I used Barn Red stain to color the cheesecloth, then added a few embellishments.

Thank you for stopping by today. And if you missed my Bluebird tag card from last week, it was shared yesterday at AO, so stop on over.

Stamps: Artistic Outpost: Hayride, Home
Inks: Archival Sepia, Distress Vintage Photo, Brushed Corduroy, Antique Linen, Barn Red, Tattered Rose
Stains: Barn Door, Vintage Photo
Paints: Americana Light Buttermilk, Fresco Finish  London Bus and Chocolate Pudding

Every Little Thing!

How are you all doing today and thank you for joining Artistic Outpost's February Blog Hop. Again it is a Designers Choice and you will want to visit the rest of the DT!
Lisa, Suzanne, Tracy, Linda, Alison, Terry (Me), Kate
I decided to go with softer colors or at least for me and was looking for something to encourage Spring! So much of the country and world are just battling this Winter and thus an encouraging "Typography" sentiment. This was stamped in Sepia and clear embossed. The little vines are from the "Hayride" collection and also embossed. The sentiment background was Distress inked. The arch frame and back panel were embossed together and shaded. I colored a few flowers to fill in some empty space, but still keeping it fairly simple for mailing! Will link this up to "Show It With Words" at Inspiration Journal.

Enjoy the rest of the week and there is still a little time to join in the February Referral Program for a chance at a gift certificate or Top 3.

Welcome Autumn!

We have finally started having some Autumn type weather here, well at least in the later evening and early morning! The days are still quite warm, but not as hot! On to my card!
I actually am working on creating more easy to mail items, so I decided black with Perfect Pearls might be nice. I used a foil (liner from a cake pan) panel, between the two black for what I was thinking to be like an old fashioned chalkboard!

After decided where I wanted my "Hayride" images from Artistic Outpost, they were stamped using clear embossing ink and then I applied the Perfect Pearls.
For the wooden sign, I stamped and cut this out and cut and trimmed another piece for the wording. Between the black and glimmer of the Perfect Pearls, I did find it a little difficult to photograph!

There is still a week left to enter in Artist Outpost's "October Referral Program" and it is Anything Goes, but just use those AO stamps! Thank you for stopping by and enjoy!

Designers Blog Hop with Artistic Outpost!

It is a designers choice "Blog Hop" with Artistic Outpost, so hope you will join in all the fun!
Gerrie, Lisa, Suzanne, Tracy, Linda, Alison, Terry (Me) and Kate.
The Hayride collection is so perfect for the upcoming Halloween and Thanksgiving and I just love seeing all the pumpkins showing up as decorations. The tag background was inked with Spiced Marmalade and Scattered Straw, then I stamped the vine in Olive Archival ink and the hay bale in in Sepia.
The sign was stamped in Sepia, cut out and the "Welcome Autumn" in Coffee and heat embossed. The pumpkins were colored using distress markers and stamped twice, cut and layered front on top of the back pumpkins.

We are midway through October, but there is still plenty of time to get inky with Artistic Outpost stamps and join in the "Monthly Referral Program." Thank you for visiting and taking the time to comment. Have a wonderful week.

Apples and Pumpkins!

I hope you are all doing well and enjoying the Autumn season and you know who is around the corner, right? Today is World Card Making Day, so what a great day to start off a new challenge,  "Use A Mask or Stencil" at Fashionable Stamping Challenges, chosen by the lovely Ellie. Be sure to stop by an check out all the fabulous art my DT Sisters have for you. There is a prize from Flonzcrafts, the FSC sponsor and a Top 3 selection and you never know when you might be spotlighted, so come on and join in!
It is that time of year for Hayrides, Apples and Pumpkins and cooler weather and I don't know about you, but I am ready for it! This year's heat just did me in! Working with Artistic Outpost's "Hayride" collection, I stamped the background panel using Archival Olive on vanilla card stock, heat set and then colored in the leaves with Shabby Shutters. Then I inked over the entire panel using Peeled Paint, Scattered Straw, Shabby Shutters, water flicks and shaded with Vintage Photo and further distress the edges. Taking this card over to Frilly and Funkie's "Colors of Autumn."
The frame was stamped in Archival Sepia and then clear embossed. The sweet little kids were also stamped in Sepia, heat set and watered colored with Peeled Paint, Scattered Straw, Tattered Rose, and Frayed Burlap. The kids were masked and then the background inked with Peeled Paint, Scattered Straw and then flicked with water and Distress Stains of Vintage Photo and Peeled Paint.
The sign was stamped in Brushed Corduroy and cut and lightly inked with Antique Linen and Peeled Paint, before the words were stamped in Black Archival and clear embossed.
The Apple Basket stamp was colored using Distress Markers, Barn Door, Weathered Wood and Tea Dye. I did add a little color using Vintage Photo to white card stock prior to stamping where the basket would be, to give more of a wood look.

Well that it is for today and I do thank you for stopping by!

Come On!

Come on and join in the Artistic Outpost's New Release of "Hayride" and "Christmas Chalk"  Blog Hop with Gerrie, Lisa, Suzanne, Tracy, Linda, Alison, Terry (Me) and Kate.

Today I am sharing a wall hanging using Hayride and Chalk It Up!
This ended up being a fun project, but it did not start out as such! I first inked up some paper with Antique Linen and a little Brushed Corduroy, knowing I would use the ledger stamp from Ephemera Backgrounds for a subtle background. Once the background was stamped using Brushed Corduroy, the Frame and Tractor (love this) was stamped in Coffee Archival. The edge was die cut with Tim's notebook!
That was my start and I tried this and that and this and that and could not find a decent home for my duly noted tractor!
I looked around at this and that, you get the picture and then saw the frame that I had from my good old painting days! The brain power kicked in!  The frame was painted in French Vanilla and stamped with Sepia Archival and clear embossed. I did think about adding some crackle, etc., but decided no.
Something told me to go with corrugated cardboard and make some leafy matter!  Once I cut the leaves and pine cone, I stained them using Mustard Seed, Barn Door, Bundled Sage, Rusty Hinge and Dusty concord. After nice and dry, I applied Crackle, let dry and brushed on Vintage Photo stain. I was thinking these were a little bright and remembered that talent ball, Astrid, mentioning toning down color with Dylusions "White Linen" and this worked quite nicely! Thanks, Astrid!

The corrugated cardboard background was cut and cracked and stained with Vintage Photo. All cardboard edges were highlighted using Treasure Gold, White Fire!

Really love these new releases and I can't wait to share more of my completed projects over the next few weeks. The September Monthly Referral Program is waiting for you and your AO stamps, so come on and have some fun!

Thank you so much for visiting today!
