The Halloween Fun Continues!

For the next two weeks the challenge theme at Fashionable Stamping Challenges is Halloween/Halloween Colors, so even if you aren't a fan of ghoulish fun, you can still play with the colors of Halloween!  A prize from Cottage Crafts as well as a Top 3 choice will be awarded, so come on and join in the spooky or not fun!  My DT Sisters have served up some really nice treats, so stop by FSC and have a long look!  I will also be linking this up to Simon Says Stamp and Show "A Favorite" and mine is Halloween and All Things Tim!

For my card, which I wanted to keep to a mailable size, I stamped one of Tim's background stamps on Orange card stock and embossed with black.  The tickets were stamped in Distress Spiced Marmalade and clear embossed and then inked over in black.  The cat was die cut on black and then lightly inked with Opalites and clear embossed and place on a ticket stamped with a Halloween themed sentiment.  Added a stickle eye and some of Tim's Black twine.  Added some chit chat stickers and that was that.

Halloween is a Favorite!

As luck would have it, Linda has us on page 53, Challenge #25 in our CC2 books and we are playing with Perfect Pearls!  Now that is a favorite of mine, among many and as Simon Says Stamp is the sponsor, well they also have a challenge at Simon Says Stamp and Show "A Favorite," so we are double dipping as I love Halloween and Perfect Pearls!   Will also link this up to the current "Spooktacular Decorations" challenge at Inspiration Journal!

I can't tell you about the technique for challenge #25, but I can tell you a little bit about that awesome skull!  I stamped this dude on recycled plastic, after scuffing the plastic up a bit.  I really wanted a ghostly effect.  Once I stamped him using Archival Black, I clear embossed.  Yes, you must be careful with plastic as it can easily distort.  The Graveyard was much fun to make and I will tell you about that at a later time.  Added a couple of shrinky dinks and a star was born.  All stamps are Tim's as are the Perfect Pearls, dies, etc!

Rusty Shades of Autumn

The current challenge at Fashionable Stamping Challenges is "Shades of Autumn/Fall" and my DT Sister, Paula, chose this fabulous theme!  Speaking of fabulous, if you stop by FSC, you will see some gorgeous inspiration.  With one week left to play, come on and join in and remember there is always a prize from Cottage Crafts and a chance to be among the "Top 3." 

It is funny how things come about as I was going to sit out the current challenge at FSC, as sometimes life can get in the way.  Then I saw Simon Says Stamp and Show "Rustification," and I played with a Rusty background, using Gooosebumps, Metallic Stains, and Rusty Hinge!  Inked up some "Rusty" goodness on ribbon, metal and grunge paper!  From there it just kind of evolved and then this AM, I saw Lisa's Bloggers Challenge, "Take Flight" and so imagination took flight.  I know that was silly, but that is exactly what happened!  I knew I wanted to catch up with the FSC girls, but just need a little lift! 

My little dress form was a previous failed attempt and once I inked over my "dislike" and picked off bits, I really like the rusty effect!  This was fun and now I need to get motivated to do a few house chores before the dinner hour calls!  Ha, I just realized the chain was suppose to hang off her shoulder!  Must have slipped during wing prep!

A Different Kind Of Tag!

The challenge theme at Frilly and Funkie is "A Different Kind Of Tag" plus a theme of  Autumn or Halloween!   Anita wants the tag to be "altered" and not used as a regular tag, so fly on over to Frilly and Funkie to see what both sides have come up for you!  Remember to untag your tag and as always there is a $25 prize to The Funkie Junkie Boutique and a Winners Badge!  For my "different" tag, I used one of those Giant Tags and turned it into a little story book, if you will!  My theme is Halloween, but I think you can guess that!   I am also linking this Halloween book up at Inspiration Journal for their October's "Spooktacular Decorations."

There was quite a bit of activity taking place in this tag.  First I inked it up starting at the bottom using black and then working my way up the color chain!  I did add a few streaks of various colors using the side of the applicator.  Folded this in half and trimmed one edge to have a double faced tag, added a reinforced piece.  Once inked, I gave it a quick spray with Krylon Matt Sealer. 

Front side, I stamped some bats from Artistic Outpost, the witch is from Stampin Up.  For the moon effect, I just placed a Spellbinders circle die over the area and wiped with a slightly damp paper towel to remove a little color.  The owl from Tim's new stamps was stamped in Archival black and cut out.  The cat was inked with Black Soot Stain on manila paper and a second cat was cut with green.  I was going to highlight the cat with some white ink, but loved the way Vada did her cat.  The tree was a blast to do.  Cut from manila paper, inked with vintage photo stain and then stamped with Black Archival using Tim's wood grain background stamp, as was the little fence around the house! 

For the inside, I inked the Artistic Outpost bat stamp with Black Soot Distress Marker, as I wanted this to be more subtle.  The house was sprayed using Dylusions, then embossed with the notebook folder, inked with Archival Black and then clear embossed.  Pumpkins and ghosts are shrink plastic.  I colored the pumpkins with Spiced Marmalade Distress Markers, after giving the shrink plastic a light sanding, baked, colored with stickles and let dry!  Yes, I stamped and cut out that little pumpkin from the "kids" stamp to place in the window.  I still don't have that die strip!!  Pretty much the rest of the images were stamped with Archival Black and then clear embossed.

A Little Christmas Time!

Yes, I wanted to do Halloween!  It took every once of strength to keep me away from all the ghoulish thoughts, but I decided to go ahead with Christmas for CC2 #24 and Tim's "October - 12 Tags of 2012."  That lovely lady at Studio L-3 has us hitting the bottles again for technique #24, Alcohol Resist!  OK, Alcohol Ink Resist on page 59!  I used this technique on both the tag and card.  Out of respect to Tim, we can only tell you how fun these challenges are and to get the book!   Last week I was the lucky winner of Linda's CC2 #23 package of goodies provided by Mario!  How exciting is that?  Big thank you again, Linda!  That lady surely does rock! 

I did a tag for Tim's challenge and a card for Linda's!  For Tim's tag, I pretty much followed his instructions, but changed up the theme and colors.  The edges of the tags were inked with the Silver dabber paint, as were the ornament tops.  For the card, I followed the instructions on page 52.  The background was embossed and then I ran a white craft ink pad over the top and clear embossed.
