I was forced to go in search of a new background and I am liking this more and more. It is from cute 'n' cool blog stuff by Itkuplli. I loved my previous butterfly background, but am enjoying the flowers. I have an idea for putting something in the background of my Header, so that shall be interesting!
Did anyone else who had to select a new background have a difficult time deciding on what to use?? Is it a woman thing?
Have a great day and now maybe I can go create something!!

Compendium of Curiosities Challenge Week Six
Linda has taken us to page 66 of the "Compendium of Curiosities." I know the meaning of "Stupid is as stupid does" now, because today I have Forrest Gumped my way through this challenge. First of all I did not have the "special medium," so used Mod Podge. The use of Mod Podge was probably fine, but my idea for vintage paper was less than ideal. I did not have any old books that needed a good tearing! First attempt I printed some nice vintage music sheet paper and I put my MP on the printed side. I can't tell you #2 stupid, because it might give away too much. Then of course I realized that it certainly would not tear very well due to the thickness!! Next step we had the most brilliant idea to use tissue paper, so we stamped words on the tissue paper. So far so good! We then added the glue which went right through the tissue paper and glued down on my surface! Ok, the next brilliant idea was to use rice paper - it is sturdy. Again with stamp and ink in hand it was stamped. This works better than tissue paper, but leaves behind little hairy legs after tearing, which we clipped and clipped. I lost the white from the rice paper and have something more cruddy gray!
Thank you Linda for taking me on this adventure and no, I did not swear once or run for a Margarita! This will be a redo with the correct materials at a later date! As always your visits and comments are deeply appreciated.

The Play Date Cafe Challenge PDCC38
Well this is my first challenge with the Play Date Cafe. The stamp I chose "Alice" is from Artistic Outpost. All papers are from Stampin Up and the the white paper I sponged on the three PDCC colors and did a light Glimmer Mist Spray. Alice requested a jewel on her crown and so it is! This was a very fun challenge!

Double Duty Tag
I decided to enter this tag for two challenges! For the first challenge at Studio L3, the lovely Linda has taken us to page 43 of the "Compendium of Curiosities," week five!! Louise at Tag Tuesday has us with the theme of "Hearts," Challenge #59. This is my first time working with Distress EP and although I like that there is no shine, I am not sure that I would use it again for sentiments. I wanted kind of a rainbow effect, so used five different colors of EP and do like how that came out. Just wish the lettering would have held onto more crystals! This was quite enjoyable to work with a new product and come up with a combined design for two challenges! Fun, Fun, Fun!
The background music stamp is from Impression Obsession. I die cut and embossed the heart and wings using Tim's new Sizzix line and added pearls. Thanks for popping by and commenting, which I always do appreciate. Have a fantastic weekend!

GC60: Color Challenge - Shades of Blue
While I was working on the "Shades of Blue" challenge at Gingersnap Creations, I realized I have not done "Fairies." Oh well! Ever since I bought this lovely "Alice" stamp from Scrolls Work, I have so wanted to use it. When I was trying to come up with something for the "Shades of Blue," Alice just kept popping into my mind! I was not sure how to keep it as blue as possible, but I think I kept her pretty in blue! I will tell you that I actually masked off all the critters and Alice to keep the background blue from bleeding in. I also decided to present her in a couple of ways! Since I did three of these delightful images, I have a third to figure out what to do with!
Along with the Scrolls Work stamp, I also used one of Tim Holtz new embossing folders, alcohol inks, and a brand new punch I just bought a Michael's for $6.99! Did that come in handy or what to go with Alice's flying cards? The embossing of the little cut-outs was quite a job! Here is a close-up shot of Alice. Notice the pink eye I gave the rabbit!
As always I appreciate your stopping by and visiting my blog and commenting! Have a most wonderful evening!

Compendium of Curiosities Challenge Week Four
Linda at Studio L3 selected "Shabby Chic" for this week and what a fun technique! I have never played with the paint daubers, so I cracked open a couple of bottles. My color selection is limited in the daubers. The stamps I used are from Stampin Up, the new Elements of Style. I used Twinkling H2O's on the flowers and leaves. The Hummingbird was cut out and I was so afraid that I would remove the beak!
I did with one sample use some of my acrylic paints to make a sky and used Tim Holtz stamp. This was really cool to me how the sky came out!
As always your comments are very appreciated and welcomed! Thanks so much for visiting me.

Tag Tuesday Challenge #58 -- Summer
Here is my challenge piece for Tag Tuesday! Red/White/Blue papers were 1/2" cuts adhered to the tag. BBQ stamp is an older Stampin Up set. The BBQ was embossed and then I cut out a separate base to give a little pop! Hot dog is layered on top of the bun (of course). Could not resist the beer bottle cap!
Have a safe and wonderful 4th of July!

GC58: Transparencies
Working with transparencies at Gingersnap Creations and this is my first attempt! Very interesting the things you learn as you go along. The Jesters are stamped on acetate and the little disk was stamped and embossed and then cutout and placed on white paper, which was framed with black glitter. The little balls on the shoes and hats were embellished with tiny little gold stickers, which don't really show up in the photo. All stamps are from Scrolls Work.
