With two "Birthday" challenges going on, I decided to make a birthday card that I will need in August! Imagine getting a card done a month ahead of time! Now I will probably forget where I place it!! Linking this us to Inspiration Journal's "Happy Birthday American or Other Birthday Celebration" and Lisa's Bloggers Challenge "They Say It's Your Birthday." Thanks Lisa, the challenge title worked out so well for me!
Decided to use Tim's Kraft Resist paper and I clear embossed the mechanical tools and then did some distress inking! Once done with that, I ironed off the EP.
The "Time Traveler" was stamped using Black Archival on Ranger's Specialty Paper and watered colored using Distress markers. I did not want this to be very bulky for mailing, so added some of Tim's rub-ons for a little interest and fun!
The Pocket Watch was cut from grunge paper and colored with Distress Stain and Marker. The sentiment is from Stamping Up. Nothing too fancy here. It took more time to think about what to do then anything, but isn't that how it goes?
Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a fabulous week!
Stamps: Tim's and Stampin Up
Distress Markers: Fired Brick, Tattered Rose, Walnut Stain, Tea Dye
Distress Stain: Wild Honey
Inks: Black Archival, Distress Peacock Feathers, Spiced Marmalade, Peeled Paint

Hi Terry. This looks brilliant! The way you have added so much without the bulk is clever...some really great ideas.

The cost of postage is very high and this wonderful card looks fab, hugs Annette x
Terry, what a great card! Love the inkiness of it and smart to use elements to keep it as flat as possible. Of which, I'm going to be reaching for those rub-ons more often!
Thanks so much for sharing your card with us for the celebrating Birthdays Challenge at the Inspiration Emporium!
Hugs

Oh I love the Kraft resist paper you used- I used that on a card yesterday for the first time : ) Love the image you used and I am with you about the cost of postage and making cards flat!
A wonderful card, love these images.
Oh well done getting ahead with this and good luck with putting it in a safe place (been there, done that).
Fabulous male card, bet whoever it is for will love it! Great way to use the Kraft resist!!
You sound like me - I make stuff & forget where I put it. The curse of making things too early (fortunately I don't do it too often - LOL) Beautious card - love the Kraft paper & how you put the words on the watch :)
Lovely piece Terry! Always good to save on postage, it is so expensive over here, too. Hugs, Valerie
Wonderful details and colour, the kraft paper is perfect for this. I know I would forget where I'd put it it I'd I'd made it so far ahead lol. Flights booked for next year again yay.

Love the muted greens on the kraft resist - what a fabulous look... and the colouring on the time traveller is great. I can see I'm going to have to give in to the pocket watch thing - brilliant embellishment!
