For Grungy Monday, Linda asked us to create a loving tribute to someone who has passed away, using of course products or techniques of Mr. Holtz! Well this was a difficult challenge in many ways! When I saw the sketch challenge Lisa had given us for Bloggers Challenge, it all fell into place! The tribute is to the two people in my life that gave me everything! I no longer have parents and sometimes I am in overwhelming pain. This was the last picture taken of my parents together. I lost my Mom in 2004 and my Dad in 2008 and not a day goes by that I don't think of them. The scanned picture did not turn out very well, so I will make a copy of the photo and use that.
The background patterned papers are Tim's as are most of the inks! Butterflies and Doily are from Cheery Lynn! I cut out the doily on white card stock and then inked with Spun Sugar, Victorian Velvet and Tumbled Glass. Shaded with Walnut Stain! The butterflies were previously cut and just waiting to be used. Used the Papillon background stamp for the doily! The heart trim is from my Mom's belongings and seemed quite appropriate.
Lynn of Trash To Treasure is having a Three Year Blogaversary Giveaway, so you might want to go check it out! Sure looks like some awesome candy!
Wishing you all a wonderfuly weekend! Thank you for stopping by!

Oh Terry, what a very special piece of art you've made - especially with a piece of your Mum's trim included too. I bet they were both so very proud of you. A wonderful tribute to your parents xxx
What a wonderful tribute to your Mum and Dad Terri the whole design and colouring is perfect. I know what you mean when you say not a day goes past - I am like that too, in fact I stopped at the cemetery yesterday to see them.
Hope you are having a good weekend. We are having fireworks later with the girls (although I can hear lots going off now). It's Bonfire Night here in the UK.

Terry, you created an absolutely gorgeous tribute to your beautiful parents! The photo is lovely-- what a handsome couple!-- and your use of gentle imagery and soft colors is wise and perfect, as are the butterflies and little hearts.
I love this piece and am so touched that you shared your memories. I have no doubt your mom and dad are very proud of their kind, generous daughter.

Your parents would be so proud of your art achievements and you as a person. They surely were special people and you created the most wonderful tribute to both of them and I am not ashamed to say I am sitting here with a tear at my eye reading your post.
