Grungy Monday #8 and Gingersnap Creations 101

"Save a horse ride a cowboy" is what this card brings to my mind!  We are challenged to use Cowboys and Cowgirls at Gingersnap Creations, so I went with the Cowboy theme!  For Grungy Monday, Linda has us playing and splattering with inks using Tim's September Technique Challenge.  Now Mr. Holtz used Adirondack Dye Ink Pads, but since I only had a couple of colors, I went with Distress Inks!  I did distress my image backgrounds after the splattering and stamping.  The blue background paper, I added to the puddle to give it kind of a leather type look.  Of course, I covered most of it up.  We used Tim's Typeset Alphabet die and corners from the ATC die.  I was going to make a tag, but then decided this would be a birthday card or Father's Day card for my DH, who is a far cry from a "Cowboy."
Inks used, Archival Black, Distress Inks, Chipped Sapphire, Stormy Sky, Tumbled Glass, Black Soot, Walnut Stain, Vintage Photo.
My friend, Tracy is having a blog candy offering.  Now if you don't know Tracy, you really should take the time.  She is a riot and a really cool person, not to mention she is guest designer for the "Altered Alice" this week, which reminds me to get creating something!

I also received a consolation prize from another Blogger friend, Lisa, over at LoveLee Notes!  She had a blog giveaway and even though I did not win, she wanted to thank me!  Lisa sent me the sweetest little box of tea conversation cards and a precious card.  Was that lovelee or what?  Lisa offers some interesting tips from time to time, so take a visit!  Thank you, Lisa!
Wishing you all a wonderful week.  Your visits and comments are always appreciated!

Terry, you are so sweet! That was such a nice post--I'm so glad you liked the cards. I created each one with a different photo background and various trivia bits.

And I gotta say, I love that cowboy themed card. The colors look great with all the technique you used! I don't have but one archival ink so I doubt I'll get some in time to play, but I enjoy looking.

Also, I gotta tell ya--I was able to get most of the Alice unmounted stamps, except the rabbit =( so I'm hoping to check out Altered Alice (soon as I've had a chance to play). Woo Hoo--thanks for inspiring me!

Okay, I'm still laughing over the opening line of this post! Bet there are a lot of cowboys around my part of the country who'd love to have THAT on a bumper sticker!

This card is amazing, Terry! The GM technique is perfect with that cowboy stamp, and the design is beyond cool! You've completely rocked the antique, old West feel, and your guy is certainly going to love this.

That IS a lovely gift! Much deserved, too. :-)
