GC57: Chestnut Theme - Wings

Wings, anything with wings is the challenge at Gingersnap Creations this week!  Doing this reminds me of my bird, Fred a Patagonia Conure!  We will have him 23 years in August, which is old for this breed!  He has developed large fatty cysts and surgery is out of the question due to his age and complications.  All the dogs I have had, back away from this wonder beast!  Many people wonder how he has managed to live that long, did I tell you he is mean and has a really bad attitude??  This bird does not look like my Fred, who is not very pretty with age!

Close up of the bird.

For the Tim Holtz Birdcage die, I used the Metallic Parchment technique from the April/May 2010 issue of the Technique Junkies Newsletter. Not much of the beauty of this tech shows up when you die cut a birdcage, but I liked the look!  The bird is glittered with five different colors.  The background papers are KC and have very subtle prints, which I wish you could see.

Here are some more things with wings I did in March.

The butterfly die is awesome and you can do so much with them.  I have turned many into magnets and some made it to cards.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting!  Wishing you all a safe and Happy 4th of July!

Well your wings card is incredible but you never told me about Fred!! How awesome is that!! He must be an old curmudgeon like me... bet we would get along! Ok back to art... I have to say, I just love your style! The metallic parchment is perfect for the cage and your bird is simple scrumptious!!!
