Wild West and a Little Blog Candy!

Tag Along with Yvonne and all of us at Fashionable Stamping Challenges! Now my tag is obviously on the western side using Tim's Wild West set!  I first Distress inked my background, then used Tim's star stencil with modeling paste, let it dry, embossing clear ink and then gold EP. I then stenciled a few more of the smaller stars in the background!

The Cowboy was stamped and colored with Distress inks and fussy cut!  Oh did that take some time!

The "Wild West" was stamped on a manila ticket die cut, which was inked and water splattered.

Let me tell you I had a terrible time trying to get good photos! It was a sporadic kind of weather day with slightly overcast skies and maybe the colors I chose were oddly reflective of the Sun, but this is more in the earthy brown tones and not the pinky mauve that you may "think" you see!

We started using some flowers that I purchased a few years back (good deal) and have just sat around in their pretty little glass containers! The background was covered in the tiny little flowers using Mod Podge and then covered in white gesso. The next step was to repeat the process using larger flowers and leaving an area free for the stamped image.

This is after the first covering of Sprays.

The heart is from Stamping Up and was embossed in Gold. After all the sprays dried, I highlighted the areas in white gesso and then Treasure Gold. The corrugated cardboard was also sprayed and I added some subtle crackle, which is hard to see and again highlighted with the Treasure Gold.

In The Holiday Spirit!

It is that time again at Fashionable Stamping Challenges for a new challenge which will run through most of December! The challenge theme "In The Holiday Spirit" was chosen by me and I wanted to keep it simple especially during this time of year! This is an anything goes kind of challenge celebrating the holidays in your way, but of course you must use stamps! The design team has so much festive inspiration to share with you and as always there is a prize from Flonzcraft and a Top 3, so come on and get inky and join in!

I decided another play with my new Tim stamps was in order as I just love this Santa! Santa was stamped using Coffee Archival on the backside of some designer paper (Tim's from the Valentine sheet). It was very subtle with a slight tint of vintage green! I masked him off and then stamped the background trees and those were actually layered. The layers were shaded with Vintage Photo and Peeled Paint

The vintage music sheet was cut and distressed and slide under Santa's drum after cutting around the drum with my craft knife.

Love this vertical Merry Christmas and it worked so well for a separate layer on the brown background. The corrugated cardboard was white and I sprayed it to match the green colors which is hardly noticeable, but add some dimension!

Shabby Chic Christmas

That lovely leader of the pack, Shirley, has chosen the them of  a "Shabby Chic Christmas" at Fashionable Stamping Challenges! How fun is that and there is always a random prize drawing to FlonzCrafts and Top 3 selection, so ink up some stamps and join in! My FSC DT Sisters have some amazing art to share with you, so go treat your eyes!

I will admit that Shabby Chic was a challenge for me, but I had fun with it! The stamps I used are from Stampin Up and much neglected at that! I thought this little stocking was just the right image for a Shabby Chic Christmas!

We started using the pink paper from Tim and on the raised side of a Cuttlebug embossing folder applied clear embossing ink, ran it through and then applied white EP. For this I wanted the snowflakes to be sent in.

The frame was cut using Tim's new die from an old cereal box and I torn away bits, inked and sprinkled on some Shabby Pink EP from Stampendous. Nice little shabby chic look. The stocking was colored with markers and shaded in pink!

The tinsel twine was alcohol inked, painted the brads and the sentiment. Glued down a few little silver bells and there you have my take on a Shabby Chic Christmas! Santa's On His Way!

Well here I am a little late with my DT post for Fashionable Stamping Challenges, which is "Anything But Ink" for stamping purposes only and chosen by Laura! For all the details and some real sweet eye candy, pop on over.

Now you can use ink, just not on your stamped images. My medium of choice was acrylic paint. Oh the reason why I am late! I had paint stamped and watercolored my Santa, masked him off, inked my background and then took him outside for a spray of matte sealer. Sadly, I had a can of grey primer in my hand. So after a few little sprays, I ended up with a dirty grey Santa, but I did like the shadow effect! The sleigh in the background was stamp colored with a Distress Marker.

Mr. Santa was then paint stamped a second time and then watercolored and fussy cut! I actually liked it better this way! I also dappled on some white paint on his beard, hair (and a few liner strokes) and fur areas.

The ornament was cut, stamped in white paint with a little toothbrush splattering for a snowy feel. Added a little Rock Candy to the snowy areas around the ornament and the snowflake brads.

The Poinsettias were stamped using red paint and then some Stickles for the center.  This was fun to play around with paints for a stamping medium, but you can use whatever your little heart desires as long as you don't stamp in ink! Up, Up, Up and Away!

A new challenge at Fashionable Stamping Challenges and Dot wants you to " Make a Card." As always stamping is a must and there will be a prize and Top 3 selection, so get inky  and make some cards! You will want to stop by FSC and check out the gorgeous creations of the DT!

Well I have these Pan Pastels that I have only used once and thought I would pull them out for my background! I wanted a simple sky and ocean scene, so lightly applied some blue in a circular motion for the sky, leaving some lighter areas for clouds and then swiped it across the ocean floor! Once I liked the background, I did give a quick spray of sealer.

All images are IndigoBlu, gifted to me by Brenda and were inked in Archival Black. For the gears, I applied a little Treasure Gold to tone down the silver.

Apples and Pumpkins!

I hope you are all doing well and enjoying the Autumn season and you know who is around the corner, right? Today is World Card Making Day, so what a great day to start off a new challenge,  "Use A Mask or Stencil" at Fashionable Stamping Challenges, chosen by the lovely Ellie. Be sure to stop by an check out all the fabulous art my DT Sisters have for you. There is a prize from Flonzcrafts, the FSC sponsor and a Top 3 selection and you never know when you might be spotlighted, so come on and join in!

It is that time of year for Hayrides, Apples and Pumpkins and cooler weather and I don't know about you, but I am ready for it! This year's heat just did me in! Working with Artistic Outpost's "Hayride" collection, I stamped the background panel using Archival Olive on vanilla card stock, heat set and then colored in the leaves with Shabby Shutters. Then I inked over the entire panel using Peeled Paint, Scattered Straw, Shabby Shutters, water flicks and shaded with Vintage Photo and further distress the edges. Taking this card over to Frilly and Funkie's "Colors of Autumn."

The frame was stamped in Archival Sepia and then clear embossed. The sweet little kids were also stamped in Sepia, heat set and watered colored with Peeled Paint, Scattered Straw, Tattered Rose, and Frayed Burlap. The kids were masked and then the background inked with Peeled Paint, Scattered Straw and then flicked with water and Distress Stains of Vintage Photo and Peeled Paint.

The sign was stamped in Brushed Corduroy and cut and lightly inked with Antique Linen and Peeled Paint, before the words were stamped in Black Archival and clear embossed.

The Apple Basket stamp was colored using Distress Markers, Barn Door, Weathered Wood and Tea Dye. I did add a little color using Vintage Photo to white card stock prior to stamping where the basket would be, to give more of a wood look.

Boardwalk!

Hope you all are having a wonderful start to the week and enjoying the Summer! Yes, it is still hot here and this weather sure makes you think how nice it would be to live at the beach! The current challenge at Fashionable Stamping Challenges is "Mail Time" and there are still a few days left to join in for a chance to win a gift voucher from Flonzcraft or make the Top Three!  My DT Sisters have nailed "Mail Time" with some fabulous art, so stop by and have a look!

And speaking of the beach, I once again pulled out my Boardwalk stamps from Artistic Outpost for my Mail Time theme and it will actually be mailed!  I started by creating an inky background, a little stenciling, Spritz and Flick and subtle stamping of the little seashell.  The gentleman bather was first stamped and cut out! I did first mask, but managed when all was done to get some blue ink on his face! So not cool!

All main images were stamped using Sepia Archival and some were clear embossed. The Atlantic City was watered colored using markers and Distress Inks.  Such summer fun!

Something New

We want to see Something New at Fashionable Stamping Challenges and as long as it includes stamping, there will also be a random draw for a prize! We are leaving the "NEW" up to your interpretation and it could be a new technique, new stamps, new anything! And on the subject of new, our Guest Designer is Neil Walker "Neelz Expressionz," so be sure to visit him and all the DT members for new inspiration!

My card has lots of "New" and was fun, so here we go!  A first for me was to make my own stencil using my new movers and shapers "Mustache" and after  stamped the letters/numbers, I placed my stencil over the card stock and began applying clear embossing ink and powder.

After this was heat seat, I inked on Rusty Hinge, Peacock Feathers and Peeled Paint and then lightly applied Antique Linen over the entire surface! Ironed off the EP and then distressed and shaded with Vintage Photo.

Next I used my "New" stamps and inked them up with Archival black and colored with Distress Ink. Did  little fussy cutting. The postage pieces were stamped on newsprint and inked over with Antique Linen and Vintage Photo for that old feel.

I wanted a patina effect on the Fleur de Lis and applied Vintage Photo paint and Broken China stain.  Hope you enjoyed my "new" share and come on an join in the fun!

A Day At The Beach!

It is "Tag Time" at Fashionable Stamping Challenges as chosen by the lovely Claire!  The rest of the DT has some fabulous inspiration for you, so stop on by the blog and join in for some stamping fun on tags! For my tag, I am using the new Boardwalk release from Artistic Outpost, which this and all other stamps sets are on sale through June 8th at 15% off. My background was inked with Distress Inks, I placed a piece of fabric over the tag and with a dampened paper towel, pressed down on the tag to lift off color and then stamped the beach huts.

Used Tim's Pocket Watch die for a frame, which was cut from glassine adhered to grunge board. The gentleman swimmer was stamped on manila card stock using Archival Coffee, heat set and masked. The background was inked, spritz and flicked, and then the beach hut stamped. The emblem was colored with markers and die cut to size. The rusty key is from Brenda!

Now the bathing beauties also wanted to join in the beach fun. The Old Jalopy was alcohol inked on foil adhered to grunge board and the rusted treatment is from the copper fixative. Shading done with Archival Black. Now they wanted to pretty up the beach scene with a little bouquet of flowers, which Vada had sent to me!

The ladies were stamped, colored with markers and cut to fit for the windows. I added some seashells along the way and of course they gathered up some in a bottle to bring home.
