Hope you all are enjoying the weekend and all that Summer has to offer! I wish that Summer was not offering up so much heat, but as long as my air conditioner continues to work, we are happy! It reached 109 degrees here today and it is humid as well!
I so meant to take a picture of my "Striped" background, before embossing and highlighting, but I forgot! The tag was masked off with easy release tape that had been cut do different widths and Distress Inked using Peacock Feathers, Vintage Photo, Peeled Paint and Black Soot. At that point I decided it need some water flicking activity and I thought it was pretty cool. This striped creation is obviously being linked to Simon Says Stamp and Show "Stripes."
I used a CB folder and highlighted with Stampin Up Craft White (Pigment). The sentiment from Tim was stamped on newsprint, which had been wrinkled and distress with Vintage Photo, using Black Archival. I stamped a second heart which was covered with a few layers of UTEE and then cut out and attached. Torn around the edges and shaded.
Thank you for stopping by today and again I am so sorry for being behind on my blogging visits. So much going on and then there seems to be no time! I promise to catch up!

Summer Fun!
Happy Monday to you all and I hope you had a wonderful weekend! It is official and Summer is upon us, well most of us! The Boardwalk girls decided it was time for another trip to the beach for a day of sun and fun!
For this tag, I decided on the giant size to give a little more open feel! The girls were stamped with Black Archival, color with Stampin Up Markers and masked! The background was inked with Antinque Linen, Faded Jeans, Salty Ocean and Stormy Sky. I also added a few streaks of acrylic paints in the sky area. The sandy area was also highlighted with a VersaMark pen and Perfect Pearls. Bits of Fragment Flakes and Sea Shells were added with gel medium and Glossy Accents.
There is still a good week left to join the Artistic Outpost, "Monthly Referral Program" for June and it is "anything goes" with your AO stamps! Hope to see you there! I will be linking this "Summer Fun" up to Lisa's Bloggers Challenge, "At The Beach."
Thank you for taking the time to visit today and I hope you are having a fabulous week!

Road Trip with AO!
At Artistic Outpost the Blog Hop theme for June is "Americana" and I decided a "Road Trip" was in order using the "Route 66" collection! You won't want to miss what the rest of the DT has to share:
My tag started with a painted and crackled background, why I have no idea as I was going to cover most of it anyway! Once I was done with that, I die cut a second tag from tissue paper and cut to various lengths and angles, trimming off a little at edges, so some background would show through. Each tissue piece was stamped with Archival Sepia and shaded with Vintage Stain then glued down.
You can actually see a little of the crackle through the tissue paper.
This old time vehicle reminds me of the cars I learned to drive in! Cars were pretty big back then and perfect size for going to the drive-ins!
Added some dimension with pop ups and embossed the "Route 66" sign and "Road Trip."
Tim's gear fit just perfectly inside of a bottle cap and I added a fairly large washer for a tire, which I thought worked out well!
Hope you enjoyed your "Road Trip" with me and I thank you for stopping by! There is still plenty of time to join in the June Monthly Referral Program, using those most fabulous AO stamps!

Something New
We want to see Something New at Fashionable Stamping Challenges and as long as it includes stamping, there will also be a random draw for a prize! We are leaving the "NEW" up to your interpretation and it could be a new technique, new stamps, new anything! And on the subject of new, our Guest Designer is Neil Walker "Neelz Expressionz," so be sure to visit him and all the DT members for new inspiration!
My card has lots of "New" and was fun, so here we go! A first for me was to make my own stencil using my new movers and shapers "Mustache" and after stamped the letters/numbers, I placed my stencil over the card stock and began applying clear embossing ink and powder.

After this was heat seat, I inked on Rusty Hinge, Peacock Feathers and Peeled Paint and then lightly applied Antique Linen over the entire surface! Ironed off the EP and then distressed and shaded with Vintage Photo.
Next I used my "New" stamps and inked them up with Archival black and colored with Distress Ink. Did little fussy cutting. The postage pieces were stamped on newsprint and inked over with Antique Linen and Vintage Photo for that old feel.

I wanted a patina effect on the Fleur de Lis and applied Vintage Photo paint and Broken China stain. Hope you enjoyed my "new" share and come on an join in the fun!
Thank you for stopping by and have a great weekend.

June Tag - Destination!
Those of you playing along with Tim's 12 Tags of 2013, are you have fun with it? That is what it is all about, to have fun while learning something new! I am not one to play with watercolor, but have to admit that once I started, I wanted to color in more! For my "June" tag, I followed Tim's guidelines and just changed up some colors and stamps!
I used Tim's Mini Blue Print stamps and these were colored with Wild Honey, Broken China, Pumice Stone and Vintage Photo markers! Pretty much that was how it was all done!
Thank you for stopping by and commenting! I hope you have having a fabulous week!
For the background, which I can never achieve a streaky look, I used Distress Paint "Tarnished Brass," Distress Stain "Broken China" and Distress "Vintage Photo" ink pad. Seashells By The Seashore
Hope everyone is having a fabulous week and doing something wonderful! My hubby had a birthday on Monday and has taken the week off, so I have not had as much crafty time! This lovely "beach goer" from the new Artistic Outpost "Boardwalk" release, is enjoying her day on the Seashore. It is pretty hot here and I am thinking I might just join her! For all the details on the frame and background, stop by and visit me at Artistic Outpost for my Wednesday post.
Through June 8th all Artistic Outpost stamp sets, including this new release are on sale for 15% off, so now is a great time to add to your collection and join in on the Monthly Referral Program as well.
A little bit of fussy cutting on the lady!
Love how the three little Seashells made such a nice background when masked and stamped individually.

A Day At The Beach!
It is "Tag Time" at Fashionable Stamping Challenges as chosen by the lovely Claire! The rest of the DT has some fabulous inspiration for you, so stop on by the blog and join in for some stamping fun on tags! There is a $20 random draw prize from Flonzcraft, our generous sponsor and chance to be in the Top Three!
For my tag, I am using the new Boardwalk release from Artistic Outpost, which this and all other stamps sets are on sale through June 8th at 15% off. My background was inked with Distress Inks, I placed a piece of fabric over the tag and with a dampened paper towel, pressed down on the tag to lift off color and then stamped the beach huts.
Used Tim's Pocket Watch die for a frame, which was cut from glassine adhered to grunge board. The gentleman swimmer was stamped on manila card stock using Archival Coffee, heat set and masked. The background was inked, spritz and flicked, and then the beach hut stamped. The emblem was colored with markers and die cut to size. The rusty key is from Brenda!
Now the bathing beauties also wanted to join in the beach fun. The Old Jalopy was alcohol inked on foil adhered to grunge board and the rusted treatment is from the copper fixative. Shading done with Archival Black. Now they wanted to pretty up the beach scene with a little bouquet of flowers, which Vada had sent to me!
The ladies were stamped, colored with markers and cut to fit for the windows. I added some seashells along the way and of course they gathered up some in a bottle to bring home.
Hope you enjoyed today's beachy blog post and I do thank you for stopping by and hope you have a most wonderful Summer!

I See You!
It is hard to believe it is already Wednesday! The last two days have been so windy and dusty here again. In the sixteen years I have lived in the desert, I don't recall this kind of dusty wind and we do receive some might strong winds. Not easy to take pictures in wind whether inside or not due to obvious movement and light fluctuations, but finally! Being Wednesday, I have also posted over at Artistic Outpost if you missed my previous blog hop post for the new Boardwalk release and through June 8th, all stamps are 15% off! Now onto this tag!
Simon Says Stamp and Show is taking us "Into The Woods" and that is the inspiration behind this one! IRL this has a little more green. The backgrounds were inked on manila card stock with Distress Peeled Paint, Shabby Shutters, Forest Moss and a touch of Wild Honey, shaded with Vintage Photo. Some Spritz and Flick action along with thinned splats of Wild Honey inker. Tim's wood grain background stamp was inked with Archival Coffee for both the tag and birdhouse.
The birdhouse was cut from manila card stock, chipboard and corrugated cardboard. The corrugated cardboard roof and base from the third cut was covered in areas with Fresca Finish, Hey Pesto, left to dry and areas covered with Rock Candy Crackle and then inked with Wild Honey Distress Stain. I inked a little twig from the yard and mounted it under the "eye."
Don't you just love that "eye" which is from Tim's new "Classics 5." This was stamped using Archival Coffee and with an applicator I added a little Shabby Shutters to the eye and eyelid and cut to fit the opening! The Funkie Junkie Challenge Blog is wanting "Holiday Destinations Through a Window" and most of my holiday plans will be at home in my most favorite room in the house!
One of my favorite quotes from another Tim stamp and will fit perfectly over at Inspiration Journal's "Don't Quote Me," as will this one!
Well I am off to visit my blogging friends and find out what you all have been up to. Thank you for visiting me today and I hope you are having a fabulous week!

A Broken Heart!
Obviously this heart is not broken, but it almost happened! Seriously this heart gave me a royal pain in the - you get the picture! Anyway, instead of smashing it to bits and pieces, I walked away from it and just took on a couple of other projects and returned to it and am now pleased! If you don't like it, lie to me, please! There is still one week left to join the current challenge at Fashionable Stamping Challenges "Alter It" and there is a $20 prize to be won from Flonscrafts. Remember we are a stamping challenge blog, so stamping is obviously required and no digi images. If you want to see some really fabulous altered projects, really go see what my DT Sisters have created!
The images I used are Artistic Outpost and were stamped on tissue paper using Black Archival and clear embossed. BTW, there is a 15% off Memorial Day sale that is in effect through June 8th! I then colored them on the reverse side using Vintage Photo, Tattered Rose, Barn Door. This was then sprayed with matt sealer. I realized that after I finished my altered heart, that these colored tissue images would really absorb right into the color, so I painted them white on the backside! Well I thought that was quite clever for this old bird!
I won't bore you with the first round of mishaps and there were plenty! Let's just say that I spent the better part of an entire day at the background, quit, went back to it the next day, quit, took a can of "white Kilz" sprayed it and then white gesso and started all over! The thing is that I like what I had down and was not going to quit!
After the gesso treatment, the flowers and other embellishments were adhered with Multi Gel Medium, which I love. The heart was sprayed with Espresso and Butterscotch Color Wash, heat set a bit and blotted up any excess. I also added some shading with Vintage Photo distress in with a wet paint brush here and there. Areas were also covered with crackle and I washed in some thinned white paint.
I added some extra color with Vintage Photo to the flowers and all was highlighted with white gesso.
Don't they make the perfect couple? And the words are Tim's Chit Chat stickers that I distressed with Vintage Photo! The pearls were cut to fit the open areas and inked with alcohol inks, espresso and butterscotch.
Challenges we are entering:
Country View Crafts - How Does Your Garden Grow
Eclectic Paperie - Gel Medium
Rogue Redhead Designs - May Flowers
Simon Says Stamp and Show - Favorite Ink - Vintage Photo
Unruly PaperArts - RAQ 1 - 5 Or More Flowers
Well that is it for now and I thank you so much for visiting! I plan to enjoy the long Memorial Day weekend with some serious BBQ. Oh and working in organzing my craft room! I gave away a very large duel station exercise gym, which was in another room and now I have a second room to spread out into! Now that is awesome! Have a wonderful weekend whatever you do!

Duel Action May Tag
Hope you all are having a week! I finally got around to ordering some of Tim's "Rubs," so I could join in the "May 2013" tag and just in time. I decided to go with a birthday theme for someone quite near and dear to me - "That Man."
I won't bore you with all the details, as I pretty much followed Tim's instructions and just used my own colors. All Stamps are Tim's! As you can see, I added some of the rubs onto the filmstrip.
ENABLER ALERT - The Funkie Junkie Boutique has an additional 15% off "movers and shapers" through today. I went there to purchase some of the "rubs" and ended up with a little stash of M/S, just because it was too hard to resist at 35% off! And for more sales on those rubber things, Artistic Outpost and The Funkie Junkie Boutique is having a Memorial Day Sale event that continues through until June 8th with all Artistic Outpost stamps at 15% off! Had to share the good deals!
That is it for today and I do thank you for stopping by and sharing your thoughts or just looking!
